Stories from Water & Ice

There's something about otters and penguins that always makes me smile.

Maybe it's the way otters float together, holding onto one another as they drift through the water. Or the way penguins gather close, leaning into one another against the cold. Even in the wild, their lives are filled with moments of connection, playfulness, and care.

This collection celebrates those moments.

From curious otter pups and devoted mothers to penguin families huddled together, these drawings focus on the relationships and personalities that make these animals so captivating.

Every piece is created slowly in coloured pencil, layer by layer, with the goal of capturing more than just an animal's appearance. I'm drawn to the moments that reveal something familiar, companionship, affection, curiosity, and the small interactions that tell a story.

These animals may live among oceans, rivers, and ice, but the connections they share often feel surprisingly close to home.

This collection is a celebration of those stories.
